Yukiko Uchida is an Associate Professor at the Kokoro Research Center, Kyoto University. She received her Ph.D. from Kyoto University in 2003 and has investigated culture and happiness from a cultural psychology perspective. Dr. Uchida is a former commission member of happiness research, Cabinet Office, Government of Japan. Professor Uchida’s research focuses on cultural meanings of happiness from the evidence of cross-cultural comparison such as between Japan and the US. In addition, she is interested in functions of social capital and emotional support toward happiness.
